Portorož, Slovenia

Alternative meeting model due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Come, share, enjoy!

Dear Colleagues,

we welcome you to Portorož, Slovenia, for the 9th International Workshop on Biomedical Image Registration, WBIR2020! The workshop will be held in the Congress Centre Bernardin in Portorož, on 16 and 17 June, 2020.

The workshop brings together leading researchers in the area of biomedical image registration to present and discuss recent developments in the field, including methodological innovations and advances in the performance and validation on existing and novel applications. We invite submissions of full papers and one-page abstracts (see submission deadlines). The workshop will include both oral and poster presentations, exciting keynote lectures, all with ample opportunities for discussion.

At the social events you will enjoy the warm and relaxing Adriatic seaside along with authentic Mediterranean cuisine and excellent drinks.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Portorož,

Published: April 4, 2020

The safety and well-being of all WBIR2020 meeting participants is our priority. In the light of the global crisis and many difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic we decided NOT to hold the physical meeting at the originally planned dates in June 16 and 17, 2020.

Those of you who might have already made travel and accommodation arrangements are advised to act accordingly and make the necessary cancellations. Note that many providers have updated their cancellation and refund policies due to imposed travel bans and other restrictions.

We are now considering alternative physical meeting dates or a virtual meeting model for the WBIR2020. By April 15 the decision will be posted on this web page and disseminated though other communication channels. All authors will be notified via e-mail.

Organization

The WBIR2020 is a special session at the EMBEC2020 conference.

EMBEC2020

EMBEC2020, June 14-18, 2020

  • EMBEC 2020, the 8th European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference, is organized by the Slovenian Society for Medical and Biological Engineering.
  • Program of EMBEC2020 consists of several special sessions, which cover traditional areas of biomedical engineering as well as new and emerging fields, such as artificial intelligence in health care, tissue engineering, bioinformatics, neurotechnology, electroporation-based treatments, biomedical imaging and analysis, and technologies for medicine and biology.
  • Welcome to attend the EMBEC2020 and participate in all of its special sessions, including WBIR2020. See the call for papers and short abstracts.
  • Note: the WBIR2020 has its own submission system and guidelines, while other special sessions at EMBEC2020 share a common submission system and guidelines.
